A good friend always impresses me with her shadow photos. She introduced me to the concept. My first attempt happened without all the proper equipment. Just my youngest kids and I at a park (that works) and my Android camera phone. Would rather have had my 35 mm with zoom. But sometimes you just have to grab the moment.
Not the best angle for mom. I swear I’m not nearly that wide. It must have been the denim jacket. (cough). Maybe I was wearing a parka. Okay, moving on. I captured a bit of their shoes in the bottom of the photo. Remember, it is my first attempt. And sometimes people wear a parka in the summer in Colorado.
My second try is a keeper. This one of my son I actually love. Playful action. It reminds me of a burnt carving made in wood. Instead it’s a shadow on wood chips. I think I’ll keep trying. I might get the swing of it

That is a great idea! I love it.
That’s what I thought when I first saw my friend’s photos. Now it’s like a signature for her. I’m excited to get better. Thanks for stopping over, Stacie.
I love the idea of this! I’ve never actually tried it, but I’m glad you shared. Now I have something fun to try next time we’re out.
Thanks, Stacey. I hope you have fun with shadow photos too. I like the artsy feel of them.
Love it!! And yes, sometimes we DO in fact wear parka’s in the summer in Colorado.
Ha, well, it is true. Sadly, I think it was just my angle. You know I’ll be working on the taller, more thin angle next time
LOVE the swinging pic!
Yes, me too. Work in progress. But fun to learn & experiment.
Love this! Shadow experimentation is awesome. You could make yourself really tall and skinny…like a gazelle, or Victoria Secret’s Supermodel
Clearly I need to learn that technique! Thanks for stopping by, Lisa!
Haha, shuodln’t you be charging for that kind of knowledge?!
Hmm, all in good time
For now, I like to think of it as ‘paying it forward.’ Thanks for your comment!
It’s cool how clever some ppl are. Thanks!
