Happy Monday. You may not hear that all too often. It seems Monday bears the brunt of the blahs for most people.
I’m happy to join many friends today as we embark on a new blog hop called “Live a Little,” the brainchild of a good friend, Katja with Skimbaco. With her encouragement, we’ll be sharing a little or a lot about how we choose to live life to the fullest in grand or tiny ways. All in the hopes to inspire others along the way. Mondays don’t have to be dreaded. They can and should be embraced.
Oh, I know not everyone looks at a Monday as a downer. There are the optimists that greet each day with a smile. I like to think I am one, most days.
So my little tip to share today? Drink fancy tea. Yep, that’s it. It can be a symbol for you to simply choose a drink you enjoy but may not allow yourself to have on a daily basis. I’m more of a tea drinker than a coffee junkie, although I do love the aroma of a good brew. For me, a fancy tea doesn’t have to be all flavored up. I like a good Earl Grey or breakfast blend. It can simply mean the tea bag is like a piece of art. The teacup might be out of the ordinary. The place you enjoy your cup of tea might be a out of the norm.
I present you with a fancy tea bag that caught my attention during a trip to Las Vegas. It was such a thing of beauty I had to take a picture of it before dunking in into the massive mug of hot water I was served. Ahhhh. I remember this morning well. I simply lingered with a newspaper and a wonderful view of a waterfall at an outdoor cafe inside the Wynn hotel. Simply drink it in.
Yes, it was likely the most money I’ve ever spent on a cup of tea and a croissant. But guess what? I lived a little. And I now cherish that moment in my timeline. Worth it, I’d say.
I’d love for you to share how you may have been inspired to live a little. Or tell me how you lived a little recently. We all need ideas!

Hi there Rajean, you could not be more in my realm when you talk about Living a Little with fancy tea. I have a cupboard full of the stuff. I am not a coffee drinker and really enjoy a cup of organic tea. sigh Off to make some now!!
Why, hello, Shane (beautiful name), fellow tea-drinker! One of my favorite tours here in Colorado is Celestial Seasonings! Oh my gosh, the mint room alone is heaven. If you ever get the chance to tour there or any other tea making facility, I highly recommend it.
Yes – it IS so simple as drinking fancy tea. My addition is fancy lattes that I make at home.. but fancy tea does it as well. It’s the little things in everyday life that make it grand. By the way.. I just recently saw that even Lipton had started making those pyramid tea bags for your home enjoyment
Katja, I like a good latte too! But I’ll have to look for those lipton pyramid bags! When I thought about what to write about for this blog hop, I happily found several ideas. It’s going to be so fun!
I actually have a cute little tea pot with warmer and matching cup that makes me feel very fancy when I decide to drink my tea out of it. Thanks for reminding me to dig it out of the closet.
Lisa, this makes me happy! I have some special tea cups too, this post was all about the cute tea bag. My mother-in-law is French, she has given me a few mugs that are really like bowls for our coffee and tea. My mom has always taught me to make something as simple as water more special by serving it in a fancy goblet. Enjoy!
You sure do have a way with words! Great story.
Thank you so much, Donna. That made my night!
You sure do have a way with words! Great article!
The little splurges are sometimes the most significant, it’s true.
Yes, Naomi, we need to treat ourselves a bit more often, no matter how small. They matter.
Fancy tea sounds divine on a cold, blustery Monday. Taking the time to really enjoy those moments are what makes every day life so wonderful.
Perfectly said, taking the time to enjoy little moments! Thanks for stopping by Brenna.
Hey,
great article and as you will see from my blog, I couldn’t agree more! Tea is such a life saver especially on a Monday when things just seem a bit rubbish! We have some fancy teabags too and specialise in Chinese tea so come check it out if you want.
Thanks,
Hannah
