That’s right. James Bond.
As a writer I’ve learned some stories write themselves. This one unfolded for me (and my husband) last evening while watching NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL). Okay, the headline I’ve chosen and the fact I’ve mentioned my husband might confuse. Hang on.
My secret (not anymore) desire to make out with Daniel Craig is fulfilled. Kinda. On screen. Again, kinda. My husband is secure in my love for him. I can tell you of my celebrity crushes. Honestly, Daniel Craig is not at the top of my list (sorry, Daniel). But he is on the list! But I think we can all agree he looks damn good in a suit. And he has a great tailor. In fact, I said just that when he took the SNL stage last evening. Truth is, he looks great in another suit, a swimming suit, too. I’d bet a birthday suit too. I digress.
Cut to mid-way through the episode when a skit called “The Loving Couple,” begins. It is known in my home as the “Rajean” skit. Here, take a look.
Seconds into the skit my husband and I began laughing so hard I think we missed much of the acting. Then when certain personality traits came forward with the character “Rajean,” portrayed hilariously by SNL actor, Fred Armisen, our laughter became more like a cackle. Daniel Craig is funny too. And in this skit, he’s my boyfriend, named Carl. I’ve never dated a Carl.
He/she loves stimulating conversation, including politics and world events. She loves books, specific cocktails, neck kisses, ear kisses, back massages (by Daniel Craig, um, I mean, her husband). She makes faces when enjoying such treats.
My first date with my husband, not Daniel Craig, included a chocolate dessert. We think it was chocolate mousse or maybe a flourless chocolate cake. He still tells the story of how my eyes rolled back in my head when I took the first bite. For him, it was love at first bite, ur, sight.
The SNL skit mentions Rajean’s love of staying at a party – late – like being the last to leave. This just happened last weekend at my 30th high school reunion. I was in the small group of people to leave the venues each night, LAST, because we didn’t want the party to end.
I love this skit. My new favorite SNL moment and I have many favorite SNL moments.
Come on, Daniel Craig, aka James Bond, said “Isn’t it a beautiful name? Rajean!” I (okay, the actor playing me) got to sit on James Bond’s lap.
And, while I hope I keep my skirt down a bit better than Fred Armisen, we can’t deny he/Rajean looks great in a short skirt. Those legs! bahaha.
Thank you, SNL, for fulfilling many of my desires and for giving me a new favorite toast to use at parties. ‘You make me do things in bed I never thought necessary! To Rajean!’ Wink.
Do you have a favorite SNL skit? Let me know.

This skit was one of those that I laughed but I also cringed and couldn’t look away. I did love that line about the bedroom too – hilarious!
You know we are all going to expect to see a pic of you with a face like they did on the skit now LOL
That’s funny, Robyn! I’ll have to make that face and include a photo to update the post! So? Did you think of me when you saw the post? haha. Hope you said, “Hey, I know a Rajean!”
To Rajean!
Ha, Cheers! Thanks, Lara ~
“I hate dumb people, read a book.” hahahaha. <3 it.
One of my favorite lines too, Nicole! Thanks for reading!
Your name ends up in an SNL skit AND it’s a skit with your celebrity crush?
Does this mean my name is in the next Star Trek Movie?
We’ll see.
Ha, John! Well, now that you’ve put it out there, it COULD happen! Always appreciate your comments!

So funny! I must have clicked it off before this skit because I remember seeing the beginning of the Daniel Craig night.
I will forevermore tie him with you
I like the Wayne’s World skits. And Schweddy Alec Baldwin. And Gilda. Oh, Gilda.
Not sure how I missed your comment Lori, but I had to weigh in on the other SNL skits you love because they are also on my top ten list. Just like Wayne’s World (I am a Campbell, like the character Wayne Campbell), and I went to Wayne h.s. in the 80s! And? Right now I’m reading “Bunny, Bunny – Sort of a Love Story” about Gilda!

[...] My Night With Daniel Craig [...]
I know I saw this SNL, but somehow missed this skit. Rajean, you’ll now be intertwined with my fantasies of Daniel Craig.
Ha, Connie, I’ll consider it an honor! Just the other eve there was a rerun of Jay Leno when Daniel Craig was promoting Skyfall and they showed the SNL clip again!
Totally, completely laugh out loud hilarious!! Congrats on your Blogma, too!
Ashley, thanks so much, I’m so happy when I can help people laugh! I consider it high praise. I bust a gut each time I watch that clip. I’m off to read all the other posts in the same humor category.
I visited a lot of website but I think this one has something special in it. “Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees the others.” by Aristotle.
