I haven’t seen the latest episode of “Downton Abbey,” but I’ve heard enough about it today that I felt the need to share my own story of a difficult delivery. The show has quickly become my must watch television. Somehow I missed it last night. Maybe I’m not ready to see it. Maybe I am. I’m sure I’ll watch it when I can. At least I’m slightly prepared now.
You can read my birthing story with our son Beau over at Parent Society. After you’ve read it, I appreciate your sharing it. I think more of our stories need to get out there. If you have any feedback, I’d like to hear about it.

Oh, my — harrowing!
I can see how this week’s episode of Downton Abbey brought you back to that time. I’m glad you’re hear to tell the tale {{Rajean}}
Oh, me too, Lori, me too! He’s certainly worth all the drama, but I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone and I know so many others have not been as fortunate as having the outcome I did with my son. A month premature, blue, and we’re hoping he grows out of his asthma, but here to share our lives!
I couldn’t believe what happened on Downton Abbey this week. Was not expecting it at all. All I could think about was that I was glad not to go through childbirth back then, but it sounds like you didn’t have it so easy anyway.
I will say it was a birthing story which makes me appreciate, all the more, my easy deliveries the first three times. The plot took my breathe away this week. I love the series! Thank you for stopping by my little space on the web, Jennifer!
I’m glad Downton Abbey is giving us great blogging material. Great post at Parent Society (new site I didn’t know about). I didn’t read it all as I haven’t seen that episode yet. I’ll be back.
Oh, I’m so happy you stopped reading before the spoiler was revealed. I like the diversity on Parent Society, I hope you enjoy the site and come back to both theirs and mine, Brenda. Thank you!
Glad to see that there are so many lessons to learn and remember from one television show. Maybe I should try watching it again.
It may not be for everyone, but I have always enjoyed period pieces. I love the clothing, set design (castles) and cinematography. Plus I have really become fond of the characters. Thanks for stopping by and sharing, Caryn.
I must be the only person on the planet who still hasn’t watched Downton Abbey.
Nope. I haven’t either, Jessica.
Julie, I’m surprised with the way you like fashion. Unless you don’t like midcentury fashion. I happen to love it, the elegance of it all!
Nope. I was two seasons behind, Jessica. But I don’t watch my soap opera anymore (Young & the Restless) so I suppose this has replaced it for me!
You are not the only one to say that this episode brought back horrors from their own bad experiences
Well, Annie, it was certainly bad at the time and my most complicated pregnancy and birth but of course, now that he is here, as they say, nothing else matters! I did cry during much of the episode though. I didn’t realize how serious my condition was, even though death was mentioned as a possible outcome. I think we are prepared for doctors and hospitals covering themselves, you know?
